I was having pretty bad hands to start off with. Things could not have made it better with Daniel having all the luck in the world...lol..i have always liked to play cash games and i can do better than tournament game...nevertheless...we respect the House Rules...and i was determined even before i played to win the tournament with total different strategy..
As usual, D has got pretty nice hands..and ah kau that night has got crazy hands as well...as i started to play i was thinking to play it tightly and there was a hand that i got pocket sevens and i raised 2 times the blind and made everyone folded but K. here's the flop 7 A 4 and i got my three of a kind...i was looking at K and he was usual, trying to keep quiet and thats not really like him and he called. This had made me felt ..woow...i got him already..i raised before flop and he called and now he kept quiet like making everyone started to pay attention on the game....ah yuk was quite frustrated as aggresive as he has always been.... he didn't have a playable hand.. so that really means that he got an Ace in there.. here comes the turn.. 3..and i bet hard on it..and to my surprise he said all in...i was thinking ..hmmm...i really got him...i called instantly.....and i turned over my cards...he was like. OMG....three 7s....hahaha....and he had 2 3 with and he was on a straight draw...and come on......he went ....thats the way he lived his poker life..gambling...real hard on the luck and only 5 could help him......and what is the possibility....and guess wat... river was 5....couldnt help it....couldn't help it..i mean Fxxk....luck had been knocking on everbody's door but me....i went down 15% of the total stack...sigh......
so..i told myself it could be such..i dun believe in luck in hold'em. To me, luck could help u in win some hands but could not help u to be the ultimate winner... as i understand it perfectly ..i'd to think....u should attack it and soon it will be gone...yes it will help u in some hands..but u attack it strongly...it will soon be 'yours'...lol...at least thats how i chose to believe and had proven to me tt it 'd worked....
so i was down like to few hundreds of chips ....K, D and Y had plenty..not to forget Mr. Ferdi was there....after some meehoon from D's wife place...and anyway, congratz to D's wife, J and her partner..D din care to intro to us..godddamn it....anyway,on the grand opening of a new Cellnique....lol....congratz...
Ferdi was pretty quiet as he was testing his luck in the beginning of the game...should i have done tt too? the fact i dun...i mean u can only realise ur X factor if u play...anyway, i was on the table for an hour or so...protecting my chips and playing tightly ....no room to breathe.....with some Pu Er that Yuk brought us and some Shandong nuts which Ferdi was having most of them...,lol...
Ah Yuk was not feeling well...he had some real nuts that he could not for days get them out of the body...lol....if u know what i mean....K was suggesting some watermelon with salt which i had never heard b4.....might work..but no guarantee from K..lol... so anyway, he only played few hands and he lost them all ..guess the real nuts not only were the obstacles of the his output system but also his input system..he could not have concentrated..lol
After an hour or so, my chips started to grow and soon it became competitive again and D was wiped out together with Ferdi in an all in game thereafter that d and Ferdi had A 4 and A 10 respectively and K had pocket sixes...the flop came and K had his three 6s and that took care for Ferdi and D .. i mean sometimes u have to give the credit to K. he is courageous and aggressive in poker.. he plays almost every hand and that it is the spirit that we admire him the most... he is the doer and he has his lovely wife to plan for him...
i had probably 70 % of chips lesser than K as he wiped out D and ferdi in that hand but i was confident i had him...i never get intimidated by giant chips stacks and i will never be ..simply because it's not the chips but the person who is playin it.... so heads up with ah kau was quite ..hmm..ok i would say....but i find heads up with ferdi is tougher....
As im writing now, i m texting with my friend in kuala lipis ..and soon a story of car charger will be out.
The night was soporific after the dinner at Subang. 3 hour drive was tiring. all i could see were cars queuing and lights of buildings which served no memory to me at all as i had never been to that place before i saw the Public Bank at the corner lot. We were there for 2 hours or so and we drove for another hour to D's place and i had a terrible Fook Kin Mee but i was damn hungry at that time.
i had been playing tight and conserving my chips. the deciding game was that i had a hand. i had 10 4 off suit which i normally dun play with...but i was on the big blind. the flop came Q 10 4 and i had two pairs on the flop. I knew this was the hand that i could turn the table around. i looked at K, he had that fxxkin look again when he got a hand and he wanted to slow play it...and i know...i dun mind tellin u all...lol...so i decided to bet hard on it....he came back to me with all in..just like the initial game that i lost to him ie that stupid straight draw that hit him...i instantly called him...to my shock again this time, he had 2 pairs as well ..the Q and 4...hmm... K did well this time and i knew this would be over before the turn and the river..and it was to his luck again....as he would say it...but to me i played superbly well as i was down to shitty chips and came second at last... to me, i have improved my tournament game and i kept trying in the second round of poker which i used the same tactic again and came out....
